FAQ’s
Q: How do I know what size urn is suitable for my needs?
A: The rough guideline for determining urn volume is the weight in pounds of the decedent in cubic inches. So, for every pound one needs, one cubic inch of urn volume. This is a rough metric though. Please provide us with the decedent’s weight prior to death, and we can determine what size is best for your needs. Our loose philosophy is that one can’t have an urn that is too large (within reason), but you can have an urn that is too small.
Q: Can I get a custom size urn and can I request different glazes to the ones I see on the website?
A: Yes, absolutely! We have certain sizes and glazes on hand, but we would like to hear about your special requests and needs. Get in touch and we can discuss your vision.
Q: What is a keepsake Urn?
A: Traditionally a keepsake urn is a small urn that is meant to hold a token amount of ashes from a human or a pet. However, we take a broader view of the idea an believe it can be applied to any urn that holds only a portion of someone’s remains. It is very common that families will want to keep the bulk of the ashes in a large vessel and scatter or share them with family.
Q: Do you make inscriptions or other customizations?
A: While we don’t offer inscriptions, we can create a tag with a name or short phrase.
Q: Do you offer closures other than cork?
A: In most cases we can recreate urn with ceramic lid or closure, but the entire urn would need to be made from scratch to get the sizing correct. Please enquire!

A: We are happy to consider custom requests. Bear in mind we stick close to our proficiencies and work within our established aesthetics. We have found that creating custom urns can be a very rewarding process for us and our clients. Please reach out.
